Designing Icons is an essential part of my work as an Interface Designer, as it always comes down to creating unique and consistent icons, that clearly communicate what they stand for. This can be challenging to do, while staying in a specific art style, but also rewarding when the work is finished.
Sometimes, the purpose can be more abstract, like these Icons for different PvP leagues. They were done by speed modeling different types of spaceships, then evolving them in two steps, getting more complex, and then doing a contour rendering of the models.

Doing some icons for Steam Achievements was especially fun, because I was going through a lot of stuff that happened during the 2-year development phase – test renderings, concept art, documentation pics… and melting all of the different parts together in a set of consistent icons.
